BEDSIT

Bedsit is yet another option of living in London. It can be both short-term and long-term, depending what sort of standard of living you are looking for. As the name says, a bedsit is a room with a bed in it, which belongs to you. Sometimes you may mind some facilities like a little cooker or a washbasin. All the other facilities like the bathroom, the toilet and the (sometimes, but not always) kitchen, you might have to share with other people.

The price of a bedsit vary and, as usual, depend on the location, size of the room, condition of the place etc. On the whole it is normally a cheaper option to a studio flat; you might get a bedsit for about £70 per week.

PROS:

  • It is not too expensive
  • You have some privacy as you have your own room
  • You can make good friends among the people who share the house with you

CONS:

  • You have to share the bathroom and the toilet with strangers
  • It is usually not very big
